Day 4 - YogaX

First of all I have a dog named Yago. He's at full attention every time I say his name, it's rare and only when I really need him or I have something good for him (90% of the time.) I said Yoga in the same tone I say Yago, no response, I then said Yago; instant attention. I was amazed.

YogaX is 90 mins, I was surprised it was more than an hour. The first 45 minutes is monotonous as all get out. Upper Dog, Downword Dog, Upper Dog, Downword Dog, Upper Dog, Downword Dog, Upper Dog, Downword Dog, Upper Dog, Downword Dog, Upper Dog, Downword Dog, etc. Then at the 45 min mark it gets fun, but we only made it to about the 70 minute mark and quit, we were no longer interested. Maybe next time we'll make it the full 90mins, maybe not.

Day 3 - Chest and Back

This day is the reason I am doing a blog. We did the Chest and Back and it was pretty rough. I have never done so many push up and pull up in my life. It sound monotonous, but there are so many different varieties and it's such a challenge it keeps you going. Thank god for the chair and knee help, this DVD would be useless at this point for us. We did the hour workout and 16 minutes of ab's. Tony said something that made me keep going. He said, if this is the end of your workout, get yourself a recovery drink. I thought, maybe this isn't the end, maybe I'll job a little. So I start jogging I thought I'd try to run for 20 minutes. I can go about a mile or so and I start to want to stop. My lungs begin to crystalize and stuff starts hurting. I got 16 minutes into my run and thought, I feel great, I could keep going, so I did. I Bumped up the speed to 4.5, remember, I'm just jogging. I got to 30 minutes and I bump it to 5mph. I ran for 2.5 miles and it felt great. I could not believe the energy I still had after working out over an hour and fifteen minutes. Maybe it's the diet or working out consistently, or both, the combo seems to be working.

Day 2 - Pylometrics

I love to jump, I jumped all the time as a kid and still do occasionally as an adult. This was rough. I didn't think I was going to make it. I was so out of breath and sweating so much ( I rarely sweat when working out) I had to pause the DVD 5-6 times. I'm glad I did, I was able to do everything I was asked. There are so many different fun exercises it makes it easy to keep going.

Day1 - Fit Test / Legs and Shoulders

We started out doing the fit test (Enter results here.) The legs and shoulder workout was a good one, really worked the legs and shoulders. I hear/read about AB Ripper X being quite a challenge, but I didn't think it was going to be a big deal and was just going to push through it. This work out is 16 minutes of abs, 11 different exercises, and about 340 reps. Ouch. I just do my best and forget the rest. Most of these exercises are fun and the wife and I laugh every time Crunchy Frogs are up. I really hope to get better at this, I want to be able to do all the reps with every exercise.

The Bet and Why.

About me - I am male, 31, 5'10" 194 lbs. I have worked out inconsistently since I was in the eight grade. I have had a gym membership since I could drive and go on average 1-2 times aeek. Sometimes once a week, sometimes four, but I normally always go at least once or twice on average. Lately I have just been going through the motions and just maintaining. I eat somewhat healthy, but that last year or so I have been eating out, I love eating out and when I eat out, I eat what I want. Chicken nuggets, strips, sandwiches, wings are my down fall. I was in the best shape of my life until I turned about 22, that's about the same time I went away to college (weird coincidence huh). I still worked out during college, just ate and drank a ton.

I recently bet an old roommate that I could lose more body fat % Before June, the bet is $100 and goes from Feb 19th - May 22nd. I hope to be in similar shape as I was when I was 22 (~170lbs, six pack). Sitting in a bar at a mexican restaurant for lunch, I saw the advertisement for P90X. There were people that had the same fitness as me, but after the 90days, were ripped like I wanted to be. I mentioned it to the wife and she loved the program and we started Feb 19th. I am 194.5lbs and BF of 23.1%.
